Pamala Evans President
Pam has 30 years in the insurance industry starting with Star in 1996. Her background includes: purchasing agent and hospital rep for a Wholesale pharmaceutical company, benefits consultant/product development for various health plans, public speaker, and educator. Mentoring, training, complex Medicare issues, marketing strategies are her specialties.
Shannon Evans General Manager
Shannon has been a valued employee with Star Benefit since 1999! She is a licensed Health and Life Agent. Shannon manages the Small Group Division for Star as well as broker contracting and licensing for Medicare Products. Shannon can help with problem solving, AHIP, contracting and service issues.
Marilyn Winn Office Manager
Marilyn came to us from Advantage Health Solutions where she provided oversight for all external agents and commissions. Prior to working at AHS, Marilyn was Program Director for the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana. With expertise in many areas, Marilyn manages our database and assists agents with commission inquiries, industry developments, marketing materials, and general questions.
Deborah Sadler Client Advocate Manager
Deborah has 20+ years in different roles within the healthcare and health benefit industry. She is a licensed agent and attended Barnes School of Nursing. Deborah assists with educational presentations, problem solving, marketing support as well as helping agents and clients understand the “world” of Medicare.

Kim Bouwens Administrative Assistant
After 35 years in the nursing field that spanned Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, and three years as admin support for Star Benefit, our friend and co-worker, Kim Bouwens, has retired to North Carolina. Kim still occasionally assists during AEP and throughout the year on small projects and drops in to visit when she is in town! She will always be considered a part of the Star Benefit family!
Abby Miller-Martin Client Advocate/Admin Support
Abby has a strong background in customer service. Prior to joining out Star team, she worked in various service industry positions that included restaurant management, lead server and retail sales. Abby recently earned her Health and Life license. Her commitment to detail, professionalism, and desire to help makes her the perfect addition to the Star team! Abby meets with our Part D clients during AEP, fields agent questions, and keeps our marketing materials up to date and organized throughout the year. Abby also works on various projects, answers phones, and shares in the day-to-day business needs of the office. We are very fortunate to have her! Abby enjoys hiking, Lake Michigan beaches and her dog Lillie.
Ryan Evans Marketing Coordinator

Ryan applies his background in Hospitality and Event Planning to help us with marketed events. This includes special outreach projects, scheduling and booking meeting space, designing training materials and managing our social media pages. He also provides comprehensive support for our entire staff. A service-oriented leader, Ryan previously worked as Senior Sourcing Director for Athletix Sports Group and as National Sales Coordinator for Drury Hotels. Ryan’s positive and empathetic attitude makes him a true asset to our organization and industry. In his free time Ryan coaches youth sports, enjoys working out, hiking, playing softball and spending time with family.
